ROCKAWAY - Joe Casale and Chris Fleischman were each 1-for-3 with an RBI when Morris Hills lost to sister-school Morris Knolls, 10-3, in a high school baseball game played at Knolls on Wednesday, May 26. Morris Hills (14-16) scored a run in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 2-2, but Morris Knolls (17-12) scored five times in the bottom of the inning and added another three runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal the victory. Nelson Jimenez, Brandon Ruiz and Matt Hayes each had singles; Fleischman's hit was a double; Doug Juno drove in a run; and Scott Ptazsnysnki, Willie Rzucidlo and Fleischman scored runs for the Knights, who were held to five hits by Knolls starter C.J. Abrahamsen (8-1).

Seton Hall's 3 HRs, 17 hits too much for Knights
ROCKAWAY - Seton Hall Prep reached three Morris Hills pitchers for 15 runs on 17 hits as the Pony Pirates defeated the Knights, 15-5, in a five-inning high school baseball game played at Seton Hall on Monday, May 24. Seton Hall (22-6) got homers from three different players in winning their ninth straight game and 17th game in their last 19 outings. Joe Casale was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Knights' seven-hit attack. Scott Ptazsnynski was 1-for-3 with two RBIs; Doug Juno and Chris Fleischman each finished 1-for-3 with an RBI; Willie Rzucidlo was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored; and Brandon Ruiz was 1-for-3 to account for all of Hills' hits. Morris Hills slipped a game below .500 at 14-15 with the loss.

Randolph's 3-run 7th tops Knights, 8-5
ROCKAWAY - Randolph scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning and then held on for an 8-5 victory over Morris Hills in a high school baseball game played at Morris Hills on Thursday, May 20. Morris Hills, trailing 5-2 going into the bottom of the sixth, scored three times to tie the score at 5-5 before Randolph answered with its three-run rally that was sparked by a two-run home run by Nick Kavory. Joe Casale was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single for Morris Hills (14-14). The victory, which enabled Randolph to improved to 22-3 on the season, clinched the Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference's American Division for the Rams.

Knights KO'd from states on Old Tappan's 4-run 8th
ROCKAWAY - Old Tappan scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to upset Morris Hills in a first-round North 1, Group 3 high school baseball sectional tournament game played at Morris Hills on Monday, May 17. Morris Hills, the No. 7 seed in the 16-team field, trailed No. 10 seed Old Tappan by two runs at 3-1 going into the bottom of the fourth inning. The Knights scored a run in each of the fourth and fifth innings to pull even at 3-3. When neither team scored in the sixth and seventh innings, the game went into extra innings where Old Tappan finished it quickly with its four-run flurry in the eighth. Old Tappan moves on to meet No. 2 seed Pascack Valley in the quarterfinals. Pascack Valley squeaked past No. 15 Bergenfield, 3-2, on Monday. Morris Hills is now 14-13 following the loss; Old Tappan improves to 13-9.

Knights drop split twinbill to Sussex teams
ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills High School's baseball team's split-doubleheader against two Sussex County foes didn't work out too well for the Knights as they dropped both ends of the morning-afternoon twinbill played at Morris Hills on Saturday, May 15. The Knights lost a 13-11 morning-game decision to Lenape Valley and then came back in the afternoon and lost to Pope John, 8-0. The double defeat saw the Knights' overall record slip to 14-12 on the season while Lenape Valley improved to 13-9 and Pope John to 19-4. In the morning game, Joe Casale led a Morris Hills eight-hit attack by going 3-for-3, all singles. Making the most of four Lenape Valley errors (five of MH's 11 runs were unearned), the Knights led 5-0 after two and then had a three-run seventh-inning rally fall two runs short to end the game. In the afternoon game, Morris Hills got only four singles off Mike Liegel, who struck out six and walked three. Morris Hills opens play in the North 1, Group 3 state sectional tournament on Monday, May 17, when the No. 7 seeded Knights meet No. 10 seeded Old Tappan in a 4 p.m. game at Morris Hills.

Moran pitching, Hayes hitting stop Mo-Beard, 4-0
ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills hurler Joe Moran got all the runs he needed when Matt Hayes hit a bases-empty homer and the Knights went on to beat Morristown-Beard, 4-0, in a high school baseball game played at Morris Hills on Thursday, May 13. Moran got the win by throwing five innings of three-hit ball with seven strikeouts. Hayes finished 3-for-3 for the game for the Knights (14-10). Morris Hills was awarded the No. 7 seed in 16-team North 1, Group 3 state sectional tournament and is scheduled to face No. 10 Old Tappan in a first-round game at Morris Hills that has been scheduled for Monday, May 17, at 4 p.m.

Parsippany big innings beat Knights, 10-6
ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills' 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the fourth was short-lived as Parsippany answered with four runs of its own in its half of the inning and then added three more in the bottom of the fifth to defeat Morris Hills, 10-6, in a high school baseball game played under the lights at Parsippany's Smith Field on Tuesday, May 11. Doug Juno and Joey Casale led the Knights' seven-hit attack as Casale finished 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored and Juno was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. The loss saw Morris Hills' record slip to 13-10; Parsippany improved to 11-9.

Morristown KOs Knights from MCT on 2-run 7th
ROCKAWAY - For a team that wasn't supposed to have reached the semifinal round, the Morris Hills Knights did pretty well for themselves in the 2010 Morris County Baseball Tournament. Seeded No. 12 in the 25-team field, the Knights held on to beat No. 21 Jefferson, 7-6, in a preliminary game; beat No. 8 Morristown-Beard, 7-2, in a and then had an MCT upset doubleheader weekend two weekends ago when they beat No. 5 Morris Catholic, 15-3, on Saturday, May 1, and then came back the next day to upset No. 4 Pequannock, 9-5, in a quarterfinal. The Knights' victory over Pequannock kept the tournament from having all four top seeds advance to the semifinal round. On Saturday, May 8, however, the Knights' spoiler-role ride in the MCT came to an end when top-seed and defending champion Morristown - in spite of the fact the Colonials made six errors - eliminated Morris Hills, 6-5, scoring two runs in the bottom of the seventh and final inning to do it in the second game of an MCT semifinal doubleheader played at Delbarton School in Morris Township. Morristown will play No. 3 seed and last year's runnerup Delbarton, which beat No. 2 seed Randolph, 10-2, in the first game of Saturday's semifinal doubleheader. The championship game will be held at Brundage Park in Randolph Township on Saturday, May 15, at 7 p.m. While two Morristown pitchers held Morris Hills to four singles and combined for 12 strikeouts, the Morristown defense made six errors that led to led to four of the five runs scored by Morris Hills being unearned. Morris Hills (13-9) to a 1-0 lead when Chris Fleischman reached on an error and eventually score on a passed ball. Morristown (15-7) came back with four runs in the bottom of the third - two of them were unearned - and knocked out Knights' starter Nelson Jimenez, Morris Hills making the switch to Joe Moran. The Knights answered with three runs of their own in the top of the fourth inning to tie the score at 4-4. Joe Casale scored the first run on a balk; Moran drove in a run when he grounded out to first; and Fleischman scored the tying run on a passed ball. Morris Hills greeted reliever and winner P.J. Jennings (6-0) with the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth when Brandon Ruiz walked, stole second and scored on a single by Willie Rzucidlo. Morristown opened the bottom of the seventh with a walk by Brandon Theriault. A Morris Hills error on an attempted sacrifice bunty by Brandon Gonnella put runners on first and second. Morristown elected to sacrifice again - this time with cleanup hitter Jennings, but Moran fielded Jennings' bunt and got the force at third for the first out of the inning. Ian Wukitsch followed with a double to right-center than brought in Gonnella with the tying run but Jennings was cut down at the plate by a strong relay throw from second baseman Scott Ptaszynski. Alex Ramirez followed by drilling a one-hop double to the right-center wall and Morristown was on its way to its second straight MCT title game. Notes: Jimenez gave up four hits and four runs (two earned) with one strikeout and three walks in his three-plus innings of work ... Moran threw the final four innings and allowed two runs (one earend) on three hits while striking out three and walking two ... Gonnell struck out nine in his five innings, allowing four runs (none earned) on three hits and two walks ... Jenning gave up one earned run while striking out three and walking one. ... MH edges Mo'town; teams to meet again in MCT semi
ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills won't mind a little "deja-vu-all-over-again" when the Knights meet Morristown again. That's because the Knights defeated the Colonials, 3-2, in a regular-season high school baseball game played at Harter Road Field in Morristown on Thursday, May 6. The next meeting will be a Morris County Baseball Tournament semifinal when the 12-seeded Knights and top-seed and defending champion Morristown clash at Delbarton School in Morris Township at 3 p.m. after No. 2 Randolph and No. 3 Delbarton meet in the other semi at noon. Mickey Weiks was 1-for-2 with an RBI double and a run scored; Joe Casale was 1-for-2 with an RBI single and a run scored; Chris Fleischman was 1-for-3 with a run scored; Nelson Jimenez and Joe Moran each had a single, and Ruiz drove in a run as two Morristown pitchers held the Knights to five hits. Winning pitcher Dave Lummie (2-1) scattered six hits and two runs (both earned) in seven innings while striking out three and walking one.

Fleishman hit, pitches Knights past Vernon
ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills warmed up for its "Morristown Doubleheader" with a 5-2 victory over Vernon in a high school baseball game played at Morris Hills on Wednesday, May 5. The Knights head to Morristown on Thursday, May 6, to play the Colonials in a 4 p.m. regular-season game at Harter Road Field and then the two teams meet up again two days later on Saturday, May 8, for a 3 p.m. Morris County Baseball Tournament semifinal at The Delbarton School. Against Vernon, Morris Hills got five innings of two-hit scoreless ball from starter and winner Chris Fleishman, who also drove in two runs with a pair of sacrifice flies. Scott Ptaszynski finished the game with two doubles and an RBI and Joe Casale was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Morris Hills is 12-8 following the victory; Vernon slipped to 5-12.

Knights fall to Whippany Park 4-run 6th
ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills, trailing 6-3 after one inning, battled back the rest of the game and, after finally going ahead 8-7 in the top of the sixth only, saw Whippany Park rally for four runs in its half of the inning for an 11-8 victory in a high school baseball game played at Whippany on Tuesday, May 4. The Knights (11-8) scored three times in the top of the first inning only to have Whippany Park (12-1) come back with a six-run flurry in its half. Morris Hills closed the gap to a run with two runs in the second inning and Whippany Park got back one of those runs with a singleton in the bottom of the fourth. Morris Hills scored in the fifth to trail 7-6 and then added two runs in the top of the sixth to take its short-lived 8-7 lead, setting up Whippany Park's four-run sixth where the winning run was scored on a sacrifice fly and two insurance runs were added on a two-run homer. Morris Hills got 13 hits off three Whippany Park pitchers with Mickey Weiks leading the way for the Knights when he finished 3-for-4, with two RBIs and three runs scored. Joey Casale was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored; and Nelson Jimenez was 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Doug Juno finished 2-for-5 with a run scored; Chris Fleischman was 1-for-5 with a run scored; Scott Ptazsynski finished 2-for-4 with a runs scored; and Brandon Ruis was 2-for-4.

Knights advance to MCT semifinal vs. top-seed Morristown
ROCKAWAY - The Morris Hills baseball team took a two-game losing streak into this past weekend's MCT doubleheader and Knights' coach Bert Giovine says the two defeats made his players "... into a more focused team." Focused enough for the No. 12 seed Knights to beat No. 4 seed Pequannock, 9-4, in a Morris County Baseball Tournament quarterfinal in Pequannock on Sunday, May 2, the day after beating No. 5 Morris Catholic, 15-3, in an MCT first-round game at Morris Catholic. "We had two hard-fought losses to Delbarton (9-7) and Mendham (2-1) leading into the tournament weekend," Giovine explained after Sunday's victory put his Knights into the tournament's semifinal round. "But those losses made us more determined than ever to do well in the tournament." The Knights (11-7) will face top-seed and defending champ Morristown in the 3 p.m. second game of a semifinal doubleheader at Delbarton School on Saturday, May 8. Morristown beat No. 9 seed Morris Knolls, 9-5, in their quarterfinal game at Morristown on Sunday. The other semifinal pits No. 2 seed Randolph against No. 3 seed Delbarton at noon. Randolph outlasted No. 10 seed West Morris, 14-12, at Randolph and Delbarton beat No. 6 seed Whippany Park, 8-5, at Delbarton in their quarterfinals on Sunday. Pequannock (12-2) took an early lead with a run in the second but Morris Hills came right back with a five-run flurry in the top of the third to take a lead it never lost. A three-run burst in the fifth made it 8-1 and, after Pequannock scored two runs in the sixth to close the gap, each team scored a run in the seventh inning, with Morris Hills leftfielder Matt Hulbert ending the game with a diving catch with two Pequannock runners on base. Doug Juno singled to start the Knights' third-inning five-run outburst. Chris Fleischman was hit by a pitch and Mickey Weiks followed with a two-run double. Joey Scott singled home Weiks and Ptaszynski tripled to drive in Weiks before Brandon Ruiz' single drove in the fifth and final run of the inning. Ptaszynski led the Knights' 10-hit attack by going 3-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs scored and Weiks was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs. Joe Casale was 1-for-3 with two runs scored; Fleischman had an RBI and two runs scored; Ruiz was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored; Joe Moran was 1-for-3 with an RBI; Juno finished 2-for-4; winning pitcher Nelson Jimenez was 1-for-4; and Chris McCormick scored a run. Jimenez (3-0) pitched 5.2 innings of five-hit ball, giving up three runs (earned) while striking out six and walking three. Fleischman got the last out in the bottom of the sixth and then gave up an unearned run in the bottom of the seventh before Hulbert ended it with his diving catch in left. Morris Hills faces a busy week with a game at Whippany Park on Tuesday, May 4, at 4 p.m.; Vernon visits for a 4 p.m. game on Wednesday, May 5; the Knights are scheduled to play Morristown in a regular-season game at Harter Road Field in Morristown on Thursday, May 6, at 4 p.m.; and then, two days later, it's Morristown again in the MCT semifinal. ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills pounded out nine hits and took advantage of nine walks issued by Morris Catholic pitchers to win their Morris County Baseball Tournament first-round game, 15-3, at Morris Catholic on Saturday, May 1. Stan Ptazsynski and Nelson Jimenez led the way for the No. 12 seeded Knights (10-7), who scored 10 runs in the final three innings of the six-inning game to 10-run the No. 5 Crusaders (9-5). Ptazsynski finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Jimenez was 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in the top of the four-run fourth inning that broke open a close game and put the Knights on top 9-3. Joey Moran had some control problems early on and gave up three runs (two earned) in the first two innings but then pitched shutout ball the rest of the way, finishing with a five-hitter with five strikeouts and an uncharacteristic seven walks. Mickey Weiks was 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs score; Joe Casale was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored; Chris Fleischman was 1-for-2 with a double and four runs scored; Brandon Ruiz was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored; Willie Rzucidlo was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored; Doug Juno drove in a run and scored a run; and Moran also drove in a run and scored a run. Mendham edges Knights, 2-1, in pitching duel
ROCKAWAY - Chris Fleischman of Morris Hills and Justin Sawka of Mendham took the term "pitching duel" to a new level when Mendham edged Morris Hills, 2-1, in a high school baseball game played on Friday, April 30. Both pitchers had solid outings and both pitchers drove in their teams' runs with RBI singles. Fleischman was the hard-luck losing pitcher, scattering four hits over five innings and driving in the Knights' only run of he game with an RBI single in the top of the third inning. Fleischman finished the game 2-for-3, getting two of the four hits allowed by Mendham starter and winner Justin Sawka. Sawka pitched a complete-game and drove in both of Mendham's runs - the first with a first-inning single and the second with a third-inning single. Morris Hills is 9-7 following the loss; Mendham improved to 5-10.

Rally falls short in 9-7 loss to Delbarton
ROCKAWAY - Delbarton jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two innings and then had to hold off Morris Hills in order to pin a 9-7 defeat on the Knights in a high school baseball game played at Delbarton on Wednesday, April 28. Morris Hills chipped away with two runs in the fourth, a singleton in the fifth, and four more runs in the sixth but couldn't catch Delbarton (10-3), who scored single runs in the fourth and fifth to provide the eventual two-run margin. The Knights were held to six hits by Delbarton pitching with Scott Ptazsynski leading the way for Morris Hills by going 2-for-2 - both doubles - with two RBIs and two runs scored for the game. Nelson Jimenez finished 1-for-3 with three RBIs; Joey Casale was 1-for-2 with two runs scored; Chris Fleischman was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored; Doug Juno was 1-for-4 with a run scored; and Matt Hayes scored a run. Jimenez hurls two-hitter to beat Chatham
ROCKAWAY - Nelson Jimenez threw a two-hit shutout as Morris Hills defeated Chtham, 10-0, in a six-inning high school baseball game played at Morris Hills on Tuesday, April 27. Jimenez struck out three and walked but one as Morris Hills improved its spring record to 9-5. The teams were scoreless through the top of the fifth until Morris Hills scored seven times in the bottom of the sixth inning to take control of the game and then added three in the bottom of the sixth to end it because of the 10-run mercy rule. Mickey Weiks led the Knights at the plate as he finished with three hits - a three-run homer, a double, and a single - and four RBIs in four at-bats.

Knights hold on for 7-6 MCT win over Jefferson
ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills jumped out to a 7-0 lead and then held on for a 7-6 victory over Jefferson in a Morris County Baseball Tournament preliminary-round game played at Morris Hills on Saturday, April 24. Morris Hills (8-5), the 12th seed in the 25-team tournament, moves on to the round of 16 where the Knights will face No. 5 seed Morris Catholic Saturday, May 1, at Morris Catholic at a time that has yet to be determined. Morris Catholic drew preliminary-round bye. Chris Fleishman was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored as the Knights built up their early lead with a run in the first, five in the second and another singleton in the fourth. Joe Casale was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Morris Hills. Jefferson (5-6), seeded No. 21, battled back with a run in the fifth, three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to pull to within a run. The Knights face sister-school Morris Knolls in a 7 p.m. game on Monday, April 26, at Gardner Field in Denville.

Knights rally to outlast Mount Olive, 15-10
ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills overcame an early 4-0 deficit and went on to beat Mount Olive, 15-10, thanks to a trio of five-run innings in a high school baseball game played at Morris Hills on Friday, April 23. Mount Olive (2-8) scored four times in the top of the second inning but Morris Hills (7-5) came back with five runs in each of the third and fourth innings to take a 10-4 lead. Mount Olive scored four times in the top of the fifth to close the gap to two runs, but the Knights scored five times in the sixth inning for a 15-8 lead. Brandon Ruis was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for the Knights. Ray Hogrelious added a two-run double and Scott Ptaszynski finished with two hits and also scored twice.

ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills opened the game with a nine-run first inning and finished with 15 hits in an 18-2 victory over Parsippany Hills in a five-inning high school baseball game played at Par Hills on Monday, April 19. Joe Casale drove in four runs and finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored as eight different Knights finished the game with two or more runs scored. Nelson Jimenez and Chris Fleischman each had three hits, Jimenez going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Fleischman finishing 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Scott Ptazsynski was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored; Mickey Weiks was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored; Brandon Ruiz was 2-for-3 with two runs scored; Doug Juno was 1-for-2 with an RBI and three runs scored; and Joe Moran scored two runs. Jimenez (1-0) got the win for the Knights, pitching the first four inning and allowing five hits and a run while striking out two and walking none. ROCKAWAY - West Morris rallied for four runs in the top of the fifth inning to defeat Morris Hills, 7-4, in a high school baseball game played at Morris Hills on Friday, April 16. Morris Hills (5-5) took an early lead when Joe Casale's RBI single highlighted a two-run first inning for the Knights. West Morris (4-4) came right back with a three-run flurry in the top of the third inning before Morris Hills regained the lead with a two-run fourth when Doug Juno singled in Joe Moran - who had also singled - to tie the game at 3-3 and Chris Fleischman's RBI groundout put the Knights back on top, 4-3. West Morris' fifth-inning outburst was keyed by Connor Smolensky, who drove in his third and fourth runs of the game with two-run double. Earlier, he had homered with a man on in the third. --- Knights' 11-run 3rd inning beats Wallkill Valley, 20-14 ROCKAWAY - An 11-run third inning powered by Mickey Weiks' two-run double led Morris Hills to a 20-14 six-inning victory over Wallkill Valley in a high school baseball game played at Wallkill Valley on Thursday, April 15. Weiks finished the game 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored. Dave Juno doubled, drove in a run and scored twice; Nelson Jimenez doubled, drove in two runs and scored three times; Scott Ptazsynski doubled, drove in two runs and scored three times; Willie Rzucidlo tripled, had three RBIs and scored once; Joe Moran drove in three runs and scored twice; Matt Hayes had three RBIs and scored three times; and Joe Casale drove in a run and scored three times. Ray Hogrileus went five innings to get the win and Chris Fleischman pitched the final inning.

ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills broke a two-game mini-slide by putting together a 13-hit attack that included five extra-base hits to defeat Kittatinny, 8-2, in a high school baseball game played at Morris Hills on Saturday, April 10. Doug Juno led the way by going 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Morris Hills (4-2). David Lummie (1-0) got the win for Morris Hills (4-2), scattering five singles and giving up single runs in the second and third as Kittatinny fell to 2-4 on the season. Joey Casale and Chris Fleischman each had two hits and drove in two runs as Casale went 2-for-2 with a run scored and Fleischman finished 2-for-4 with double and a run. Brandon Ruiz was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and one run scored. Joe Moran was 1-for-3 with a run scored; Scott Ptazsynski was 1-for-4 with double and a run; Mickey Weiks was 1-for-4 with a run; Nelson JImenez singled in four trips; and Willie Rzucidlo had an RBI and a run scored.

Knights outhit Sparta but lose a 15-7 decision
ROCKAWAY - Morris Hills reached three Sparta pitchers for 12 hits, but it wasn't enough as Sparta defeated the Knights, 15-7, in a high school baseball game played Friday, April 9, at Sparta. Sparta finished with nine hits and took advantage of 15 walks given up by three Morris Hills' pitchers as the Spartans won their fourth game in five decisions this spring. Morris Hills slipped to 2-2 with the loss. Sparta led 6-2 after one and 10-6 after five before scoring five times in the bottom of the sixth inning for a commanding lead. Joey Casale got four hits for the Knights, finishing 4-for-4 with two RBIs and run scored. Fleischman, Mickey Weiks, Ptazsynski and Jimenez each got two hits with Fleischman finishing 2-for-4 with two runs scored; Weiks going 2-for-5 with an RBI and a runs scored; Ptazsynski finishing 2-for-4 with two RBIs; and Jimenez going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Willie Rzucidlo drove in a run and scored once and Joey Moran scored a run to complete the Knights' offense.

Knights lose first on Hanover Park's 7-run 8th
ROCKAWAY - When the dust had cleared 25 runs, 29 hits, six errors, and eight innings later Morris Hills had lost its first game of the season, a wild 16-9 decision to Hanover Park in a high school baseball game played at Morris Hills on Wednesday, April 7. Hanover Park (2-1) scored seven times in the top of the eighth inning to gain the victory after Morris Hills (3-1) had forced extra innings by scoring a run in the sixth inning and then adding two more runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 9-9. Morris Hills reached four Hanover Park pitchers for 12 hits and took advantage of four errors to come back from 7-3 and 9-6 deficits. Joe Casale and Brandon Ruiz each had three hits to lead the Knights with Casale finishing 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Ruiz going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Scott Ptazsynski doubled twice and finished 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored for Morris Hills. Mickey Weiks was 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored; Nelson Jimenez was 1-for-4 with two RBIs; Willie Rzucidlo was 1-for-3 with a run scored; Doug Juno was 1-for-4; Azem Koliq scored two runs and Chris Fleischman scored once.

Casale 'steals' a victory for the Knights
ROCKAWAY - Joey Casale's delayed steal of home with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning gave Morris Hills a 6-5 victory over Roxbury in a high school baseball game played at Morris Hills on Monday, April 5. Casale had opened the inning with a single and worked his way over to third when, with Brandon Ruiz at the plate with a 2-0 count, Casale broke for home when the Roxbury catcher threw the ball back to the pitcher and was able end the game with his heads-up baserunning. Mickey Weiks had two hits and drove in a run for Morris Hills, which is now 3-0 on the season. Casale also had two hits and scored twice for the Knights.

ROCKAWAY - Mickey Weiks hit a two-run double to highlight a four-run fifth inning as Morris Hills rallied for an 8-4 high school baseball victory over Kinnelon at Kinnelon on Thursday, April 1. Trailing 5-2 going into the top of the fifth of the season opener for both teams, Morris Hills went ahead to stay with its fifth-inning flurry and then added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth. Weiks finished the game 3-for-4; Willie Rzucidlo added two RBIs for the Knights; and Joe Moran, who came in relief during Kinnelon's four-run second inning, got the win and was also 2-for-3 at the bat
